how to fit toilet in this space

Hello, I know I'm only concerned with one toilet but it is really a problem and I need assistance. I have an old 'wall hanger' toilet I need to replace. The pipe connecting the two parts is about to rust through. I'd prefer a taller seat and an elongated bowl. The problems. Nothing in this house is 'right'! Nothing squared, no normal measurements, etc, etc.
