Huge holes in air handler box

Hello all, My name is John from East Texas. I joined this site out of desperation for help with high kwH usage of my unit. I constructed a metal building with high R value insulation unit with a vertically stacked heat pump. The plywood air handler box rests on the concrete floor. For five years I have had near three hundred dollar bills every month on a nineteen hundred sq. ft, two story condo with no one living in it and the air set to 75 degrees. My house next door is twice the size and everything I have is electric with monthly bills typically four hundred dollars. I did not buy the service agreement when the unit in the metal building was installed and wish I would have given I have paid for an expensive visit @ twice a year. For five years they have come and gone always with some probable reason the unit is so inefficient.
My brother in law came over the other day and I was complaining about it. We go to the unit and I open the twin doors to the heat pump. "I found your problem he says. "See these holes in your air handler box? That box is supposed to be sealed or its pulling outside air directly into the blower."
You can see what happened when you look at it. There is a six inch by six inch hole far to the left which is cut into the face of the plywood box. A foot to the side is another 14" tall x 22" hole were the side of the box had been cut out to fit the pipes to accept the drip from the unit. Apparently the air handler had been sealed and someone realized the drain hadn't been hooked up. I have been with this company for over eight years and bought two five ton and this three ton from them and no one ever told me, they just kept shaking their heads that I didn't get the service agreement and collecting the check.
I feel like an idiot for trusting them all these years. Any recommendations? sorry for being long winded. jc
